Job Summary
Senior Mainframe Engineer with BMC experience responsible for maintaining and optimizing our z/OS mainframe environment, including VTAM, TCP/IP, SNA, Sysplex, and related technologies. Responsibilities include converting automation from BMC Mainview Current State Manager to Total Object Manager, creating and maintaining REXX execs and rules, on-call support within SLA, installing and migrating OEM/ISV software, supporting Disaster Recovery exercises, managing changes through standard controls, producing technical documentation to meet audit requirements, and providing training on BMC Total Object Manager.
Required Qualifications
- 4 years of progressive experience in mainframe technical support
- Excellent knowledge and use of z/OS components with detailed knowledge of supporting hardware
- Strong leadership, time management and organizational skills
- Excellent communications, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work unsupervised and independently seek out and interact with colleagues and outside vendors
- Ability to understand & facilitate decision making on key issues concerning a project
- Capability to shuffle priorities in response to a changing workload
- Flexibility to keep up with changing technology
