Job Summary
Operate machinery to produce bags and print at required speeds while changing paper, glues, inks, and threads as needed. Correct and report unsafe conditions immediately, utilizing lockout/tagout procedures and maintaining a clean work area. Assist the Adjuster Supervisor in training and retraining Bag Catchers, Collator Tenders, and Machine Tenders. Set up one to four color prints, adjust machines as instructed, and ensure all waste meets management standards. Start machinery, make grocery print changes, and legibly fill out reports. Catch bags on a relief basis or as determined by management. Meet safety, quality, production, waste, and housekeeping goals set by management.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- Must pass Bennett Mechanical Test
- Must have basic reading, math and communication skills
- Must have ability to make adjustments and minor repairs, with good working knowledge of machinery
- Must be able to correctly read a ruler and use various hand tools/industrial equipment
- Must be able to legibly fill out all reports
- Must be able to assist in training and retraining of new employees, and Bag Catchers, Collator Tenders and Machine Tenders
- Lifting; a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Carrying; a minimum of 50 lbs.

Desired Qualifications
- Three to five years of factory experience
