Senior Machine Learning Engineer (m/f)

Job Summary
Design and implement machine learning services, deploying them to cloud production environments to serve millions of marketplace users. Build tangible models using structured and unstructured data, iteratively improving accuracy through performance tracking and new data integration. Research state-of-the-art techniques in computer vision and NLP, then collaborate with internal teams to discover new ML applications for products and internal processes. Mentor junior engineers, review code, and document solutions while advising on data acquisition and business insights. This hands-on role offers significant ownership within the in-house Data Science team, focusing on turning messy data into reliable models that enhance the user experience.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of machine learning engineering experience
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques, including deep learning models for computer vision and/or NLP
- Strong programming skills and advanced command of the frameworks, libraries and databases you work with (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras)
- Advanced knowledge of mathematics and statistics
- Proficiency with SQL for writing efficient queries
- Hands-on experience building and testing microservices
- Working knowledge of Linux-based systems and Docker
- Basic understanding of cloud technologies (AWS)
- Strong problem-solving skills and clear communication
- A reliable team player who enjoys mentoring
- Well organised, proactive, and able to manage your own time and priorities
