Job Summary
Senior Machine Learning Engineer for a healthtech startup. Responsible for building, deploying, and improving robust ML models for product features; designing offline and online experiments; conducting data-driven analyses to derive actionable insights; collaborating with ML Infrastructure to scale platforms powering ML systems; mentoring ML engineering interns and team members; sourcing and interviewing diverse talent to grow the ML engineering team. Requires production ML experience across the full lifecycle, ability to translate product intuition into data-driven hypotheses, leadership of cross-functional ML initiatives, strong collaboration with researchers, business leaders, domain experts (e.g., doctors), and product managers, and hands-on experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch. Masters plus 6+ years or BS plus 8+ years of relevant experience; location is Palo Alto, CA onsite.
Required Qualifications
- Masters with at least 6 years of relevant experience or BS with at least 8 years of relevant experience
- Experience building production machine learning models and systems across the full lifecycle (research, deployment, improvements, maintenance)
- Ability to translate product intuition into data-driven hypotheses and ML/engineering solutions
- Experience leading cross-functional teams on strategic ML product initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders (researchers, business leaders, domain experts such as doctors, product managers)
- In-depth experience with at least one ML framework (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.)
