Job Summary
Senior ML Engineer for Coupang Eats Search & Discovery responsible for the end-to-end design, development, operation, and advancement of the search system. Build and deploy ML models across the search funnel (retrieval to ranking), research and apply LLM-based models to enhance search quality, analyze large-scale datasets to identify meaningful features, design online experiments (A/B tests) to validate hypotheses, and collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to solve cross-vertical search problems in Korea and Japan.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience developing and deploying machine learning models using large-scale datasets in production environments
- Proficiency in Python or Java with hands-on development experience
- Proven track record of solving complex problems through data-driven approaches
- Ability to quickly learn, proactively identify problems, and deliver business impact
- Experience collaborating across teams and contributing to technical decision-making
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field
- Experience applying and tuning LLMs for search quality improvement
- Industry experience operating large-scale online serving systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to contribute to team growth
- Proficiency in English and Korean for global collaboration
