Job Summary

Conduct onsite and virtual loss control surveys, evaluate workplace hazards, and develop tailored safety programs to reduce injuries and improve operational efficiency. Independently assess client operations, perform root cause analysis, and create actionable plans for risk mitigation while ensuring regulatory compliance. Lead high-level client meetings, present safety strategies to executives, and deliver training on injury prevention and cost controls. Bundle client work to maximize service utilization, manage overnight travel to customer sites, and mentor junior consultants.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma; or GED
  • Have a minimum safety designation such as COSS, COHST, ARM, CRM, ALCM, CSHCO, CCSHCO, ASP, CSP, CRM, or others
  • A minimum of 7 years as a loss control consultant (or equivalent related experience)
  • Become an active member of the American Society of Safety Professionals or a similar organization
  • Full-time position
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Client needs may require earlier or later hours and, occasionally, holidays or weekends
  • Requires travel, including overnight, approximately 3-4 times per month
  • Ability to endure extreme environmental conditions, such as heat and heights
  • Personal Protective Equipment may be necessary for certain circumstances
  • Ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds

  • Lead and manage complex, high-profile projects involving multiple stakeholders
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve team performance and service delivery
  • Demonstrate thought leadership in risk management and safety practices through published articles, blogs, or similar
  • Present at industry conferences and seminars as a subject matter expert
  • Develop innovative, cutting-edge solutions for complex risk scenarios across various industries
  • Coordinate services for complex clients using other Consultants and staff
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key accounts and high-profile clients
  • Lead high-level client meetings and strategic planning sessions
  • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive safety programs tailored to their client's specific needs and industry requirements
  • Conduct in-depth assessments of clients' existing safety programs, identifying gaps and areas for improvement
  • Design and write customized safety manuals, policies, and procedures that align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
  • Review and update existing client safety programs to ensure ongoing compliance and effectiveness
  • Provide expert consultation on program integration, helping clients incorporate safety initiatives into their overall business strategies
  • Develop and deliver training programs to support the implementation of new or revised safety protocols
  • Conduct periodic audits of client safety programs to assess effectiveness and recommend enhancements
  • Conduct complex risk assessments using advanced statistical methods and data analysis techniques
  • Develop prevention models for safety and risk management, incorporating machine learning and AI technologies
  • Design and implement comprehensive risk management programs for large, complex organizations
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on complex regulatory issues across multiple jurisdictions
  • Advise clients on compliance strategies for challenging regulatory scenarios
  • Develop and deliver training programs on regulatory topics for clients and internal teams
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies in risk management and safety, including the use of artificial intelligence, wearables, and other tech tool
  • Develop strategies to integrate new technologies into client programs
  • Skills to effectively evaluate the client's operations (onsite or virtually) to determine workplace hazards, evaluate the effectiveness of workplace hazard controls, and develop written recommendations for clients to improve hazard control and workplace safety efforts
  • Solid working knowledge of safety and risk principles, loss and risk control, safety regulations, and the best practices of safety
  • Preferred core understanding of workers' compensation, general liability, and other disciplines as needed
  • Ability to conduct safety and risk evaluations to determine loss potential
  • Skills to gain client support to commit to improvements
  • Create realistic timeframes for operational improvements that will positively impact client safety and risk programs
  • Capability to review existing safety programs and assess their compliance and functional effectiveness
  • Effective training skills to lead meetings and presentations on various workplace safety topics
