Job Summary
Senior Logistics Coordinator is a hands-on operational role focused on achieving optimal productivity in day-to-day logistics operations, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring high client experience. Responsibilities include organizing stand-ups with the Manager, providing delivery-related information to clients, assisting with route restructuring and workload changes, handling administrative duties, liaising with couriers, dispatch, warehouse, and customer service to resolve service issues, overseeing fleet maintenance, generating client reports and invoices, performing quality assessments and safety checks, coordinating training and safety programs (TDG, WHMIS, defensive driving), documenting workplace incidents, supporting compliance with SOPs, and helping manage operational deadlines while promoting safe work practices. The role requires post-secondary education, 1-3 years in transportation (healthcare preferred), dispatch/route coordination experience is a plus, ongoing training and certifications, strong communication and coaching abilities, MS Office proficiency, and a valid driver’s license with travel as needed. Pay rate is $24 per hour on a 6-month contract with 100% onsite work; working hours are Monday–Friday, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary Education
- 1 to 3 years related experience in a transportation industry preferably in healthcare environment
- Previous experience in dispatching, route coordination an asset
- Updated certifications and licenses required to practice in the field
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Proficient at providing coaching and feedback
- Technical Skills: Proficient in MS office suite, excellent computer and keyboarding skills
- Has a good understanding of the Dynacare business and operating environment
- Social Process Skills: Strong problem solving, decision making and judgement to resolve issues in a timely and effective manner
- Leadership Competencies: Communicates effectively with others clearly; able to communicate with people at all levels
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel to and between locations basis may be required in some locations
