Job Summary
Evaluate and underwrite consumer loan requests, including unsecured loans, vehicle loans, indirect loans, and home equity products. Verify accuracy of supporting documentation and assess borrower creditworthiness using credit reports, income analysis, and collateral evaluation. Review home equity documents to determine ratios and acceptability, ensuring all decisions comply with internal policies, state, and federal regulations. Provide second-level review on escalated applications and prepare loan-related reports to support risk management. Exercise lending authority within approved limits and identify member financial needs to recommend appropriate lending solutions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education
- Must obtain, maintain and disclose an NMLS registry ID number in accordance with the SAFE Act
- Excellent typing and computer skills, including in-house email and core systems
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience underwriting consumer and home equity loans
- Strong knowledge of underwriting principles
- Relevant lending experience
- Demonstrated ability to assess credit risk
