Job Summary
Serving meals to senior residents in the dining room, taking orders, and preparing food according to dietary standards. Set up and deliver trays, bus tables and trays, pour beverages, and clean work areas as directed. Act as a liaison between residents and the food service department while observing infection control procedures and facility safety programs. Maintain a neat appearance, follow the dress code, and work cooperatively with dining room associates to ensure a pleasant and efficient operation. Work scheduled shifts demonstrating dependability and willingness to perform other assigned duties.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to communicate by speaking, seeing, and hearing sufficient to serve the residents
- Professional and neat appearance and presentation, adherence to the dress code, and good personal hygiene
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Free of communicable disease
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to relate to residents and associates in a courteous and diplomatic manner under all circumstances
- Completion of drug testing and criminal record background check
- Ability to bend, stand, lift, stoop, sit, walk, stretch, and lift/carry up to 40 pounds
- Ability to administer or follow written and oral directions
- Ability to communicate and relate to the community residents
- Ability to understand and relate the menu to residents
- Ability to act as liaison between residents and food service department
- Ability to understand and observe infections control procedures related to food service department
- Ability to follow residents' rights policies at all times
- Ability to follow facility safety program
- Willingness to perform other duties and assignments as necessary
- Work scheduled shifts and demonstrate dependability
