Job Summary
Serving meals to senior residents in the dining room, taking orders, and delivering trays upon chef requests. Prepare foods according to dietary standards, pour beverages, and bus tables and trays throughout the dining room and other areas. Clean work areas as directed, assist in set-ups, and maintain proper infection control procedures while acting as a liaison between residents and the food service department. Work at a steady pace to meet demands of cooks and residents, maintaining a neat appearance and following safety policies. Full-time and part-time shifts available with daily pay and comprehensive benefits including health insurance, 401K matching, and PTO.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to communicate by speaking, seeing, and hearing sufficient to serve the residents
- Professional and neat appearance and presentation, adherence to the dress code, and good personal hygiene
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Free of communicable disease
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to relate to residents and associates in a courteous and diplomatic manner under all circumstances
- Completion of drug testing and criminal record background check upon hire and upon request of supervisor
- Ability to bend, stand, lift, stoop, sit, walk, stretch, and lift/carry up to 40 pounds
- Ability to administer or follow written and oral directions
- Ability to communicate and relate to the community residents
- Ability to understand and relate the menu to residents
- Ability to act as liaison between residents and food service department
- Ability to understand and observe infections control procedures related to food service department
- Ability to follow residents' rights policies at all times
- Ability to follow facility safety program
- Willingness to perform other duties and assignments as necessary
- Work scheduled shifts and demonstrate dependability
