Job Summary
Serve meals to senior residents in the dining room, taking orders, preparing food according to dietary standards, and delivering trays upon chef requests. Assist with set-ups, bus tables and trays, pour beverages, and clean work areas as directed. Act as a liaison between residents and the food service department while maintaining infection control procedures and observing residents' rights policies. Work cooperatively with dining room associates to ensure efficient operations and maintain a neat appearance adhering to the dress code.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to communicate by speaking, seeing, and hearing sufficient to serve the residents
- Professional and neat appearance and presentation, adherence to the dress code, and good personal hygiene
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Free of communicable disease
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to relate to residents and associates in a courteous and diplomatic manner under all circumstances
- Completion of drug testing and criminal record background check upon hire and upon request of supervisor
- Ability to bend, stand, lift, stoop, sit, walk, stretch, and lift/carry up to 40 pounds
- Ability to administer or follow written and oral directions
- Ability to communicate and relate to the community residents
- Ability to understand and relate the menu to residents
- Ability to act as liaison between residents and food service department
- Ability to follow residents' rights policies at all times
- Ability to follow facility safety program
- Willingness to perform other duties and assignments as necessary
- Work scheduled shifts and demonstrate dependability
