Job Summary
Maintenance Assistant in a senior living community responsible for performing general maintenance projects and repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, fire and sprinkler systems, painting, carpentry, and related tasks in both apartments and common areas. Duties include completing work orders, maintaining walls, floors, doors, windows, and furniture, handling minor electrical tasks, painting, carpet care, and documenting safety issues per local, county, state, and federal guidelines. The role supports resident well-being, assists in preventative maintenance, staff training on safety procedures, and responds to accidents or emergencies as required. Requires MSDS knowledge, ability to lift up to 90 lbs, and flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1-3 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Demonstrated knowledge of building maintenance, electrical, mechanical, painting, plumbing, floor care, heating and HVAC skills
