Job Summary
Prepare and serve all food items using high-quality ingredients, recipes, and correct portion sizes while controlling costs. Monitor and record food temperatures during storage, preparation, cooking, and serving; label, date, and properly store all foods. Comply with state and local rules for a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen by washing and sanitizing equipment and performing general cleaning of cook areas, freezers, and refrigerators. Check inventory daily to ensure proper stock levels, control overproduction and waste, and report equipment or safety issues to the Food Service Director. Work as a team member to maintain a pleasant environment, removing garbage and operating kitchen equipment according to established safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum two years cooking experience
- Ability to communicate by speaking, seeing, and hearing sufficient to serve the residents
- Professional and neat appearance and presentation
- Adherence to the dress code
- Good personal hygiene
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to relate to residents and associates in a courteous and diplomatic manner under all circumstances
- Completion of drug testing
- Completion of criminal record background check
- Ability to bend
- Ability to stand
- Ability to lift, stoop, sit, walk, stretch
- Ability to lift/carry up to 40 pounds
- Part-time PRN (as needed) availability
