Job Summary
Quarterback caseloads and assist in all facets of commercial litigation, including contract, fraud, intellectual property, and real estate disputes. Draft motions, discovery, and legal briefs while conducting due diligence, fact-checking, and expert depositions. Take ownership of varied cases to drive them forward without micromanagement, managing junior associates and paralegals. Assist partners on state and federal matters, developing strategy for hearings and trial preparation. Operate independently with strong attention to detail and genuine interest in project outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial litigation experience involving business disputes and causes of action
- Experience litigating commercial disputes in both State and Federal Courts
- Experience managing junior attorneys and paralegals without micromanagement
- Strong experience drafting motions, including Temporary Restraining Orders, Motions for Summary Judgment, Pretrial Motions, and Motions relating to discovery disputes
- Extensive experience drafting and managing varied and tailored discovery over a wide variety of cases
- Strong attention to detail
- Intellectual curiosity and genuine interest in projects, rather than a 'finish the task and forget about it' approach
- Excellent communication and grammatical skills, both verbal and written
- Genuine, authentic personality
- Team player; takes direction well; receptive to constructive feedback
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
