Job Summary
Research and prototype solutions based on hardware and software requirements, then architect systems to meet operational and development needs. Implement automated, repeatable, and scalable solutions while installing hardware and configuring system delivery components. Work in a teaming environment to foster continuous improvement, ensuring a complete product is delivered with an enterprise approach. This role supports nonproliferation and national security missions for the US Nuclear Detonation Detection System within the Computational Systems Engineering Department.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, relevant computer field, or equivalent education and relevant experience 2 years
- United States Citizenship
- Active DOE Q Clearance on Start or DOD Top Secret equivalent, Reciprocity with ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance
- This position is on-site full time
- Two (2) years of experience with programming languages and systems such as Ansible, Python, Bash
- Two (2) years of experience with Linux System Administration
- Experience in architecting complete computer solutions, system design, engineering, and system development, including familiarity with modern DevOps practices and tools
- Experience with hardware and operating systems, including system architectures, network infrastructures, and client–server principles
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in relevant field of computer science or software/engineering
- Experience with Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt, or similar automation languages
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Proficiency with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, OpenShift, Docker)
- Possess a strong dedication to positive teaming dynamic, strong written and verbal skills, detail oriented with a keen focus on customer service
