Job Summary
Senior Linux System Administrator to lead the day-to-day administration, hardening, and modernization of enterprise Linux environments (RHEL) across on-prem and AWS GovCloud for DoD ASIC software delivery; drive patch management, STIG/ACAS compliance, and vulnerability remediation; develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code with Ansible/Terraform; write automation scripts in Bash and Python; collaborate with security, network, and application teams to support ATO/Continuous Authorization; mentor junior admins and influence architecture and lifecycle decisions; DoD RMF/ATO processes and secure operations required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline preferred; Equivalent experience will be considered
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on Linux system administration experience
- 3+ years in senior-level or technical lead capacity
- Experience in DoD or federal setting
- Experience administering and troubleshooting RHEL in on-premise and cloud
- Experience communicating technical strategies to stakeholders
- Active Secret clearance required; TS/SCI strongly preferred
- DoD 8570/8140 compliant baseline certification (Security+ CE or higher) required at time of hire or within 6 months
- Expert-level RHEL administration (RHEL 8 required; 9 preferred)
- AWS GovCloud experience
- Bash and Python scripting; PowerShell a plus
- Ansible (or Puppet/Chef/Salt) experience
- CI/CD tooling experience (GitLab CI, Jenkins)
- RHEL hardening, STIG/ACAS remediation in DoD environments
- Networking, DNS, LDAP/AD, PKI, SSH key management
- Linux certifications (RHCSA, RHCE, CompTIA Linux+)
Desired Qualifications
- Active Secret clearance
- TS/SCI strongly preferred
- RHCSA/RHCE or CompTIA Linux+ certification preferred
- Experience with DoD RMF/ATO processes
- DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification (Security+ CE or higher) required at time of hire or within 6 months
- Familiarity with CECOM ASIC software delivery processes (desired)
- AWS GovCloud experience
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) experience
