Job Summary
Receive, store, collect, and distribute sterile, clean, and soiled linen throughout the hospital while tracking and transporting items safely. Serve as a lead to ensure efficient workflow by orienting new staff on infection control policies, training employees on proper linen delivery and collection, and assisting with shift coverage when the manager is absent. Stock, distribute, and inventory clean linens and apparel; examine laundered items for serviceability; and coordinate inventory needs with the Inventory Manager. Maintain work areas, logs, and records while adhering to HIPAA regulations and University Hospital compliance standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two (2) years of experience in institutional environmental services or linen services
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to carry out the duties of the position
- Will provide coverage for staffing shortages, including weekends, holidays, and periods of inclement weather
