Senior Lighting Technician

Job Summary
Plan and carry out preventative and ad-hock maintenance across The Concourse site, maintaining technical equipment, furniture, and consumables for upcoming events. Operate ETC lighting consoles and manage power distribution, dimming systems, and architectural lighting integrations while providing leadership and training to casual staff. Collaborate with production teams to ensure visual outcomes for concerts, theatre, and comedy shows, offering feedback to improve departmental efficiency. Work flexible hours across all departments as required, utilizing cloud-based task management software and drawing tools to support diverse live production genres.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a performing arts centre, theatre, production company or related industry
- Ability to operate and program ETC lighting consoles
- Demonstrated experience and high-level understanding of technical equipment used in performance spaces of this kind
- Physical fitness and ability to comfortably work at heights
- Expert level competency on in-house equipment relevant to the department
- Extensive technical experience at a high level of your department specialisation
- Lighting Extensive knowledge and experience in: ETC Eos consoles and software
- Lighting Extensive knowledge and experience in: A range of lighting protocols (DMX512, sACN, RDM, Art-Net etc)
- Lighting Extensive knowledge and experience in: Power distribution, dimming systems and their control in similar sized venues
- Lighting Extensive knowledge and experience in: Architectural lighting systems and their integration with performance systems (AMX, C-bus, DMX Gateways etc)
- Lighting Extensive knowledge and experience in: Best-practice maintenance procedures for equipment commonly found in performance spaces
- Lighting Extensive knowledge and experience in: Basic fault-finding skills including cable repair/termination and soldering
- Lighting Extensive knowledge and experience in: Integration of pixel map and video distribution, LED video walls and projection
- Lighting Extensive knowledge and experience in: Remote control integration like Qlab, Midi, OSC etc
- Experience in the delivery of live production in a similar genre and size to The Concourse
- Good general knowledge of all aspects of technical production and keeping that knowledge current with industry standards and practices
- Proven ability in the supervision of technical staff
- Be familiar with modern computerised systems including cloud-based task management software, drawing software and general office suites
- Possess fantastic communication, team building and interpersonal skills
- Be highly flexible in hours of work
Desired Qualifications
- Competent Testing and tagging (AS/NZS 3760)
- Construction Industry Induction (white Card)
- Competent in safe operation of EWP's (Vertical Lift)
- Experience with I.T. infrastructure, switching, and network management
- First Aid Certificate
- Basic or Intermediate Rigging License
- AutoCAD or similar experience
- Working Safely at Heights Competence
