Job Summary
Senior Licensing Specialist, Regulatory Affairs in Canada focusing on licensing activities for BWRX-300 reactors and related regulatory documentation under CNSC. Responsibilities include contributing to CNSC licensing reviews, preparing and submittal of PSAR/POSAR/FSAR, delivering technical and licensing presentations to CNSC staff, coordinating responses to regulators, and providing regulatory guidance on mechanical systems and fuel within Canada. Requires advanced degree in science/engineering with significant nuclear regulatory experience, ability to lead complex licensing efforts, strong collaboration with GVH/GNF teams, and familiarity with Canadian nuclear codes, standards, and export-control requirements. Onsite in Markham 3 days/week with potential hybrid remote work, and relocation assistance available.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a science, engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 7 years related professional work experience OR Master's Degree in a science or engineering discipline with a minimum of 5 years of related professional work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience performing/providing input into nuclear safety evaluations, including satisfaction of regulatory requirements for nuclear regulatory documents
- Minimum of 5 years of experience involving complex projects, and providing regulatory guidance and feedback to support those projects
- Eligibility to work in Canada (legal authorization) for this opening
- Strong knowledge of Canadian nuclear regulatory requirements and guidance relevant to design, licensing or operation of Class 1 nuclear facilities (desired)
- Experience with BOILING WATER REACTOR (BWR) systems, fuel, or operations; knowledge of ABWR/ESBWR engineering or licensing (desired)
- Demonstrated leadership in Regulatory Affairs or large engineering projects
- Experience with Canadian nuclear codes and standards in mechanical pressure boundary, Civil/Structural design / Seismic qualification (desired)
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with nuclear regulators and collaborate with regulatory bodies
- Ability to work in a team environment with technical leaders
- Background check with drug screen requirement applicable (note: not required if role is based in Canada)
- Legal authorization to work in Canada; willingness to undergo background checks and security requirements
- U.S. Export Control compliance awareness (10 CFR 810) where applicable
- Indigenous consideration in hiring (Strong consideration given)
