Job Summary
Senior Legal Counsel for Westpac’s Legal team (Financial Markets & Corporate Advisory) on a fixed-term contract until end of March 2027. Hybrid working with a centrally located office in Britomart, Auckland. Advising on lending and debt capital markets transactions, supporting financial markets documentation (including ISDA), providing regulatory and compliance guidance, contributing to corporate advisory work (disclosures, sustainability, governance reporting), and partnering with Legal, Risk and business stakeholders to deliver practical, commercial advice. 8+ years’ PQE in banking & finance or related area, with drafting/negotiation of complex transactions, exposure to financial markets, and strong communication with senior stakeholders.

- LLB with a current NZ practising certificate
