Job Summary
The Senior Legal Counsel provides strategic and operational legal support across the organization in an international life sciences context, coordinating with senior leadership to ensure regulatory compliance while mitigating legal risk. Responsibilities include leading the development and implementation of legal strategies, overseeing governance frameworks, drafting and negotiating complex agreements, managing disputes and coordinating with external counsel, acting as a liaison with regulators, guiding junior team members, monitoring legislative developments, and supporting M&A, partnerships, and other strategic transactions. Requires a law degree (LL.B. or J.D.), admission to practice, and 8+ years of senior legal experience in a multinational setting; strong expertise in commercial matters, governance, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration; English fluency and leadership capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent law degree
- Admission to practice law in at least one relevant jurisdiction
- Extensive experience (8+ years) in a senior legal role within an international corporate environment; experience in Life Sciences preferred
- Strong experience across commercial matters, M&A, employment, corporate compliance, corporate governance, and dispute resolution/litigation management
- Extensive experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, regulatory frameworks, and compliance requirements
- Proven track record of managing complex legal matters and advising senior stakeholders
- Training in UK law would be considered an asset
