Job Summary
Senior Legal Counsel provides strategic and operational legal support across the organization, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while proactively managing risk. The role partners with senior leadership, offers expert guidance on complex matters, and contributes to governance frameworks and business strategy. Responsibilities include advising on a broad range of legal topics, leading development and implementation of legal strategies, overseeing internal governance, identifying and mitigating legal risks, drafting and negotiating complex agreements, managing disputes and litigation, coordinating with external counsel and regulators, facilitating cross-functional initiatives, supporting mergers and acquisitions, and mentoring junior team members. Fluent in English with strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills; experience in the Life Sciences sector is preferred.”,
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), Juris Doctor (J.D.), or equivalent law degree
- Admission to practice law in at least one relevant jurisdiction
- Extensive experience (8+ years) in a senior legal role within an international corporate environment; experience in the Life Sciences industry is preferred
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, regulatory frameworks, and compliance requirements
- Experience across commercial matters, M&A, employment, corporate governance, and dispute resolution/litigation management
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements
- Leadership and capability development within the legal function
- Training in UK law would be considered an asset
