Job Summary
Senior Legal Counsel responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of contracts (vendors, distribution, licenses, NDAs, etc.), providing clear, business-oriented legal advice, identifying legal risks and proposing mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance with applicable laws (IP, data privacy, labour, etc.), monitoring legal developments in digital environments, reviewing game content and marketing materials for copyright/trademarks/publicity rights, and partnering with production and internal stakeholders on legal matters.
Required Qualifications
- Member in good standing with the Quebec Bar
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience
- Expertise in digital law, intellectual property, business law or labour law
- Strong ability to simplify complex legal concepts
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, matrix environment
- Sound judgment, autonomy and pragmatic mindset
- Even better if you have
- Experience in video game, entertainment or digital industries
- Knowledge of Canadian common law
- Familiarity with tech or creative environments
