Senior Legal and Compliance Counsel

Job Summary
Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts, government procurement transactions, and distribution agreements. Advise on legal risks and mitigation strategies while maintaining company registers and drafting resolutions. Develop and deliver legal and compliance training across the organization, and help maintain policies, standards, and checklists. Identify and analyze new legislation to propose and implement solutions. Participate in cross-functional project teams and oversee ethics and compliance programs, including internal investigations into allegations of misconduct. Provide authoritative legal services meeting commercial and strategic business needs.
Required Qualifications
- An LLB or JD from an accredited university and a license to practice in your governing jurisdiction
- At least 10-15 years of corporate commercial experience gained in-house or at a top-tier law firm
- Expertise in dealing with international corporate, commercial and technology development contracts
- Track record of delivering results and pragmatic, risk-based legal advice
- Superb accuracy and attention to detail
- Exceptional time management and organization skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to impact and influence both internal and external stakeholders and provide exceptional customer service
- Must be available for weekend shifts
