Job Summary
Lead psychiatry teaching and assessment for the University of Wollongong's Doctor of Medicine program by delivering engaging learning experiences and growing clinical teaching and placement opportunities across local, rural, and regional health settings. Build partnerships with clinician educators and psychiatrists to support a consistent student learning experience while shaping curriculum and assessment development. Contribute specialist expertise to assessment design and drive academic leadership within the discipline. Positions are fixed-term, part-time (0.2 FTE, 7 hours per week) for two years, with salary ranging from $124,928 to $171,141 pro-rata plus superannuation. Candidates must maintain unconditional medical registration as a psychiatrist or be on an advanced training pathway, with one role based at Wollongong/Shellharbour Hospital and another at Shoalhaven or Southern Highlands.
Required Qualifications
- Maintain unconditional medical registration as a psychiatrist, or medical registration on an advanced psychiatry training pathway
- Maintain ongoing clinical employment as an advanced trainee or consultant psychiatrist with ISLHD Northern Illawarra Hospitals Group
- Valid Australian work rights
- Visa sponsorship is not available
- Comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases (PG1) Policy Directive (PD2024_015)
- Subject to a National Criminal Check
- Declare whether they have been investigated for an allegation of Gender based Violence or determined to have engaged in conduct that constitutes Gender based Violence
