Job Summary

Deploy the "1 Best Way" in alignment with the Medtronic Performance System (MPS) by owning the programmatic savings program that delivers labor, burden, and material usage variances. Collaborate with cross-functional focus factory leaders to develop and deploy lean transformation strategies while defining, designing, and implementing continuous improvement programs integrated vertically and horizontally. Train and coach Yellow Belts and Green Belts to advance a culture of operational excellence using Lean Six Sigma and A3/DMAIC methodologies. Establish operating mechanisms to track progress to plan for critical site-level initiatives and programmatic savings, driving initiatives focused on Zero Loss, Strategy, Innovation, Value Stream, Maintenance, and Improvement Excellence. Located at Medtronic's Tempe, AZ manufacturing site, this onsite role requires 5 days per week with periodic travel to suppliers or facilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
  • Lean Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Equivalent to Lean Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire
  • U.S. work authorization for the duration of employment
  • Independent mobility
  • Interaction with a computer
  • Communication with peers and co-workers
  • Degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A)

Desired Qualifications

  • PMP (PMI) certification
  • Master Black Belt certification
  • Comparable training and experience to PMP
  • Comparable training and experience to Master Black Belt
  • Proven success leading and coaching Lean transformations
  • Proven success leading and coaching continuous improvement programs
  • Proven success leading and coaching organizational change initiatives
  • Experience within manufacturing environments
  • Expertise in deploying process improvement strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Utilization of Lean Six Sigma methodologies
  • Utilization of value stream analysis
  • Utilization of operational excellence frameworks
  • Ability to influence, coach, and provide candid feedback to stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to drive engagement and accountability
  • Strong operational and cross-functional business acumen
  • Ability to identify improvement opportunities in the Gemba
  • Ability to optimize interconnected processes
  • Track record of delivering measurable business results through continuous improvement
  • Track record of delivering measurable business results through maintenance excellence
  • Track record of delivering measurable business results through capability-building programs
