Job Summary
Senior Lead Software Engineer responsible for designing and delivering trusted market-leading technology products in Python within JPMorgan Chase’s Markets Technology group. Works on Athena, a Python-based Market Risk, pricing, and trade management platform, to enable rapid innovation for Quants, Risk Managers, and technologists. Responsibilities include developing secure, high-performance production code, contributing to architecture of distributed systems and event-driven components, influencing product design, and driving implementation across CI/CD, security, and engineering best practices. Requires strong analytical skills, real-time data processing, and the ability to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions in a finance-focused environment.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
- 5+ years applied experience
- Strong Python
- Experience with distributed systems and distributed computing
- Event-driven systems experience
- Secure and high-quality production code
- Experience guiding and supporting technical teams
- Ability to translate requirements into sound technical design
