Job Summary
Provide technical guidance to business and technical teams while developing secure, high-quality production code and reviewing work from others. Drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed, establishing validation standards for secure coding and automated testing within the SDLC. Act as a function-wide subject matter expert to influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations processes. Contribute to the engineering community by advocating for firmwide frameworks and tools. Requires 5+ years of applied experience with Java, Spring Boot, and AWS, plus practical cloud-native and AI-assisted development capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
- 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced in one or more programming language(s)
- Demonstrated experience leading effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching senior engineers/leads on compliant usage patterns and controls
- Extensive experience in software engineering and architecture with a focus on Java, Spring boot, Restful Webservices and AWS technologies
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
- Practical cloud native experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience of communicating and engaging with senior leadership/stakeholders
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
- Familiarity with API and Micro services frameworks, Container Technologies, and workflows
