Job Summary
Senior Lead Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join Oliver Wyman's Retail Solutions team in London. Hands-on technical leadership building cloud-native SaaS for retailers; responsible for architectural decisions, delivery, and mentorship. Technologies include JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Express.js, Vue.js, Flask, Pandas; cloud-native Azure/Kubernetes with AKS, ArgoCD, Helm, Dapr, GitOps. Emphasis on performance, reliability, security, and developer experience; collaboration with product, security and compliance teams. Hybrid work arrangement with in-office presence in London at least three days a week.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience as a Senior Engineer, Lead Engineer, Staff Engineer or Software Architect
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related field (preferred but not essential)
- Certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect or CKA (beneficial but not required)
- Experience working in consulting or client-facing environments (helpful but not essential)
- Experience building and operating modern full-stack applications using JavaScript/TypeScript and Python
- Frameworks with Express.js, Vue.js, Flask and Pandas
- Cloud-native development on Azure Kubernetes-based platforms (AKS) and related tooling (ArgoCD, Helm, Dapr, GitOps)
- Databases such as MongoDB and PostgreSQL
- DevSecOps, CI/CD practices
- Designing distributed systems and microservices
