Job Summary
Senior Lead Software Engineer responsible for Bare metal server selection and benchmarking for low latency electronic trading, and for driving platform engineering and tool development within the Electronic Trading Services group. Responsibilities include configuring and building server infrastructure using Chef and Ansible, acting as the design authority for server configuration, delivering secure, high-quality production code, and guiding the SDLC. The role requires expertise in tuning operating systems and hardware for low latency trading, experience with electronic trading environments and colocations, understanding markets and transaction flows across rates, equities, futures and options, and advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes (cloud, AI/ML). The candidate should be able to independently address design and functionality problems and contribute as a senior technologist within a cross-functional team.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- 10+ years applied experience
- Advanced in one or more programming languages (Ruby, Python)
- Experience tuning and optimizing operating systems and hardware for low latency electronic trading
- Prior experience with electronic trading environments and colocations
- Understanding of markets and transaction flows for rates, equities, futures and options
- Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes (cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
- Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
