Job Summary
Senior Lead Software Engineer specializing in Python for Rates Risk and P&L with a focus on building scalable, high-performance systems that support trading desks and back-office processing. You will design and implement data pipelines, risk metrics, and PnL attribution frameworks across multiple rates products, participate in architectural decisions, and collaborate with quantitative analysts, traders, risk managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver automated platforms for risk management and profitability analysis. The role emphasizes translating business needs into robust technical solutions, maintaining large codebases, and delivering maintainable, well-tested software in a finance-focused environment. Experience with distributed systems, real-time data processing, and modern development practices (CI/CD, containerization) is preferred, along with familiarity with rates products and regulatory reporting considerations. Knowledge of SecDB/Quartz/Athena and cloud platforms (AWS) is a plus, as is exposure to AI tools and quantitative finance concepts.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on Python development experience
- Strong preference for candidates with financial services background
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles including object-oriented design, testing methodologies, and version control practices
- Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable code and work effectively within large, complex codebases
- Ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proven ability to gather requirements from business users and collaborate across multiple teams and functions
- Capability to translate business needs into technical solutions and explain technical constraints in business terms
- Willing to understand and work on legacy applications when required
