Senior Lead, Production

Job Summary

Lead production personnel, processes, and performance to safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards by supervising up to 120 employees and managing team leaders. Ensure established policies, rules, regulations, and procedures are followed while maintaining safety of personnel, equipment, and housekeeping. Verify quality standards for all processes, equipment, and personnel, and oversee training and cross-training programs with maintained records. Assist with employee development, timekeeping verification, and scheduling to meet production schedules and cost targets. Lead operational efficiency by reviewing manpower and equipment requirements, troubleshooting problems, and implementing lean manufacturing improvements. Monitor material consumption, coordinate visual controls, and ensure adherence to TS16949 and ISO 14001 standards. Maintain thorough knowledge of area processes and equipment while reporting and following up on all process and equipment problems.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum three years' experience in leadership in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Leadership experience
  • Higher education/training
  • An understanding of concepts for lean manufacturing
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups
  • Ability to communicate effectively with oral and written communication including telephone conversation
  • Ability to operate proficiently a PC computer
  • Ability to use effectively word processing, spreadsheet and database software applications
  • Ability to draft and format memos, emails, spreadsheets, and graphs
  • Ability to navigate and perform duties in enterprise ERP and timekeeping software systems
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to interpret company and departmental financial data
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
