Job Summary

Senior/Lead Engineer – Mixed Signal at Thales India Engineering Competency Center. Responsible for generating reliable, cost-effective electronics systems design and obsolescence redesign for avionics/medical products to meet customer requirements while adhering to regulatory standards (DO-160/DO-254/MIL-STD/IEC60601). Conduct trade analyses, engineering simulations, and derating analyses; lead design verification/validation and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Design low-noise analog/power electronics and mixed-signal boards, perform environmental/EMI/EMC considerations, and manage design data. Ensure compliance with DFMEA, DFT, and DFM, and drive product qualification and troubleshooting. Qualifications include a B.Tech in Electronics & Communication or related field with 5-10 years of relevant defense/aerospace experience; proficiency with Cadence/Allegro and SPICE/ANSYS; experience in high-speed design and DO-160/DO-254 compliance. The role emphasizes flexible working approaches within a global, safety-critical engineering context.

Required Qualifications

  • B.Tech in Electronics & Communication or related engineering discipline
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience
  • Strong experience in low noise design (power supply/analog) and mixed signal electronic design
  • Strong experience in full product design lifecycle (Requirements → Conceptual design → Architectural design → Detailed design and analysis → Design verification/validation)
  • Experience designing analog/digital boards for avionics/defense/aerospace
  • Experience with design tools (Cadence, Allegro)
  • Experience with simulation tools (SPICE, ANSYS) for functional/signal integrity/power integrity analysis
  • Experience with high-speed design (clocking, Ethernet/SerDes/SFPDP)
  • Experience with product verification/qualification for DO-160/DO-254
  • Experience with PCB troubleshooting and mitigation
  • Experience with DFMEA, DFT, DFM
  • DFM considerations for EMI/EMC
  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to generate and manage electronics design data
  • Experience with design verification and validation procedures
  • Understanding of environmental requirements and derating
  • Manufacturing cost awareness and DFM alignment
  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Knowledge of aiding design for test and manufacturing processes
  • Desirable: Working experience in Defense/military/Aerospace product development
