Job Summary
Senior/Lead Economist in MAS Singapore’s Macroprudential Surveillance Department conducts stress testing and surveillance of the Singapore financial sector, with a focus on scenario analyses and financial risk stress testing. You will research financial stability issues relevant to MAS as central bank and supervisor, present assessments to senior management, and contribute to the Financial Stability Review. The role requires strong quantitative skills and the use of econometric/data-analytics tools to analyze macro-financial developments, identify vulnerabilities, and inform policy discussions at international and domestic levels. Opportunities include contributing to research pieces, macro-financial updates, and topical studies on credit, liquidity, market risk, and climate-change implications for financial stability; candidates should be self-motivated, creative, and capable of independent and collaborative work.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Economics, Finance or Econometrics
- Quantitative skills (e.g. econometrics) and/or relevant work experience
- Data analytics & processing skills (e.g. R)
- Strong analytical skills
- Good written and presentation skills
- Ability to produce timely research independently and in a team
- May be required to complete medical declaration or further assessment during shortlisting
