Senior Lead Designer (Electrical)

Senior Lead Designer (Electrical) designs overhead and underground distribution systems, supports engineers with layouts, calculations, and technical drawings, and prepares deliverables such as single-line diagrams, bills of materials, and cable schedules while ensuring compliance with utility and industry standards. Develop plan and profile drawings for overhead lines and underground cables for distribution networks in coordination with the lines engineer; assist design engineers to develop underground cable routing, conduit and trench layouts; perform design calculations for conductor and cable sizing, and for overhead poles and underground conduit sizing. Prepare pricing estimates from utility material data; assist in preparing Power Single Line Diagram, Relay and Metering diagrams, and architectural diagrams; produce Bills of Materials and Cable Schedules; collaborate with peers to ensure accurate delivery per standards and procedures. Requires an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and 10–12 years of designer experience in transmission and distribution, with knowledge of North American codes (IEEE/ANSI) and proficiency in MicroStation, GIS tools, SAP, and related software; relocation and hybrid/remote work options are available.
