Job Summary
Senior Lead Designer (CAD Technician) responsible for generating environmental assessment drawings, 3D surfaces, and visualizations from LIDAR and GIS data, managing geospatial data, and performing analysis using AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS. Produces site plans, cross-sections, contour plans, volume calculations, and 3D visualizations; supports multidisciplinary projects with GIS data management, ArcGIS Online forms and applications, and data sets (including EQUIS). Requires drafting/GIS qualification with 2–5 years of environmental or consulting experience; proficient with ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, Collector, Survey123, AutoCAD Map/AutoCAD Civil 3D, Python, SQL Server, R, JavaScript, and related technologies; familiarity with BC geospatial data and GPS; capable of working in a fast-paced consulting environment; relocation assistance offered. Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in GIS and/or AutoCAD
- education in Environmental Science, Hydrogeology, Geography or related discipline beneficial
- 2–5 years of experience
- experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, GIS data management
- experience creating 3D visualizations and LIDAR-based surfaces
- ability to work in fast-paced, multi-disciplinary consulting environment
- post-secondary education in Environmental Science, Hydrogeology, Geography or related discipline an asset
