Job Summary
Senior Lead Data Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Enterprise Technology, responsible for leading data engineering within Finance Technology for the General Ledger. Design and deliver scalable data platform solutions, including data lake capabilities on Databricks (ingestion, processing, governance, cataloging, quality, lineage, access, and consumption). Lead proof-of-concept evaluations, define success metrics, and integrate successful tools. Operate within Agile SDLC, drive performance, scalability, and reliability through capacity planning and tuning. Document best practices and runbooks, maintain knowledge sharing materials, and mentor junior engineers. Explore agentic automation to improve developer experience and operational efficiency; provide recommendations on data management and governance (acquisition, maintenance, validation, utilization); implement secure, stable platforms including backup, recovery, and archiving strategies; evaluate data analysis tools and processes and present to senior stakeholders. Proficiency in AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), Terraform/CloudFormation, CI/CD, Databricks (Unity Catalog, Delta Lake), Java, Python, SQL, and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB); strong background in data governance, security, and scalable data architectures.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts
- 5+ years of applied experience in data engineering or related field
