Job Summary
Senior Lead Data Engineer at Capital One responsible for leading a team to design, develop, test, and support cloud-based data solutions leveraging Java/Scala/Python, ML, and distributed microservices. Collaborate across Agile teams, mentor engineers, and drive full-stack data initiatives using RDBMS/NoSQL databases and cloud data warehousing (Redshift/Snowflake). Build robust, scalable solutions, perform unit tests and code reviews, and stay current with tech trends while contributing to a large transformation effort that empowers millions of Americans financially. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 6 years of experience in application development
- At least 2 years of experience in big data technologies
- At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
- 9+ years of experience in application development including Python, SQL, Scala, or Java
- 4+ years of experience with a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
- 4+ years of data warehousing experience (Redshift or Snowflake)
- 4+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux including basic commands and shell scripting
- 2+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices
