Job Summary
Senior Lead Architect at JPMorganChase within Corporate Technology’s Enterprise Architecture leads architecture governance and advisory activities for software applications and platform products, driving adoption of cloud and infrastructure capabilities, translating complex technical issues for executives, leading architecture review boards, establishing reusable software frameworks, evaluating emerging technologies, and guiding PoCs with budgeting and cost-savings focus to achieve durable, scalable target-state architectures.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Extensive knowledge of cloud and infrastructure domains: compute, storage, networking, cloud, virtualization, security, resiliency, and automation
- Demonstrated ability and knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery concepts and practices, including their measurement through service-level agreements, objectives, and indicators
- Demonstrated ability and extensive knowledge of observability practices (e.g., Open Telemetry, distributed tracing) and defining/measuring resiliency factors such as availability and recovery
- Proven experience communicating and driving change across architecture disciplines (business, information, tech, data, application)
- Practical experience delivering shared platform design, development, testing, and operational stability to large scale consumer populations
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to recommend the best approaches to fulfill business goals and achieve the target state architecture
- Demonstrated ability to embed regulatory, risk, and control requirements into infrastructure architecture and provide audit-ready evidence, change traceability, and compliance reporting
- Extensive understanding of cell architecture and how to construct boundaries through existing capabilities like VPC Service Controls in GCP, or SCP's and network controls in AWS
- Extensive understanding of the niche and overlapping capabilities within the different cloud providers like GCP Cloud Run vs AWS Lambda, or Spanner vs RDS and how they can be architected appropriately for resiliency and security
- Extensive understanding of network and infrastructure capabilities that exist within the different cloud providers or exist in data center environments, inclusive of how they may be used to govern complex transit in regulated spaces, support compliance frameworks like HIPAA & PCI which includes architecture patterns and designs for low latency applications across multiple distributed application portfolios deployed using a variety of highly-distributed, yet secure and resilient manner
- Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills: 5+ years applied experience in software-defined infrastructure 2+ years applied experience in software engineering Relevant Architecture certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS/Azure/GCP Architect, ITIL, CISSP, PMP) Expertise in “Infrastructure as Code” provisioning, automation, and policy enforcement frameworks (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Puppet, Open Policy Agent/OPA/Rego)
