Senior / Lead Analyst, Market Risk

Job Summary

Conduct daily risk reporting to ensure compliance with Risk Policies and Limits while providing risk analysis for proposed transactions. Develop the Risk Department's capabilities by performing financial modeling and using complex risk models to understand and analyze market risk. Liaise with the Front Office on risk analysis related to its current portfolio and proposed transactions, ensuring representations in Cheniere's systems of record provide a fair picture of associated risks. Offer general risk support and recommendations to the Houston office, including colleagues in the market and credit risk teams, while utilizing advanced analytical, numerical, and statistical skills within Endur.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Master's degree
  • ERP or FRM certification
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience within the commodity trading/marketing industry
  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience within the commodity trading/marketing industry
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and ability to assess, analyze and monitor market risk in a trading environment
  • Quantitative and financial modeling skills
  • Experience analyzing US natural gas and/or power markets
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel & MS PowerPoint
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Self-motivated and capable of independent achievement
  • Strong business analysis, modeling and problem-solving skills
  • Technical propensity
  • Strong follow-through
  • Organized and able to manage multiple activities and programs in a timely manner and with a high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and function in a highly dynamic atmosphere
  • Exercise discretion independently
  • Occasionally, work may be performed from home, after normal work hours or on weekends
  • May be required to work overtime
  • Subject to drug and alcohol testing

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree preferred
  • ERP or FRM certification a plus
  • Proficient with OpenLink Endur
  • SQL
  • Zema or other risk tools
