Job Summary
Lead Appian solution design and development activities to drive low-code design, development, modernization, and sustainment of contract writing and related business processes. Translate business requirements into scalable low-code solutions and guide the modernization of legacy capabilities into Appian. Coordinate with architects, testers, and DevSecOps personnel to support successful delivery and production sustainment while mentoring developers and enforcing best practices. Requires Appian Senior Developer certification (L3), 10 years of software engineering experience with 5 years of hands-on Appian development, and deep knowledge of workflow automation and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure. Salary range is $180,000—$190,000 USD.
Required Qualifications
- All hired employees are expected to have experience with Microsoft Copilot and / or an approved equivalent AI solution
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
- Appian Senior Developer certification (L3)
- 10 years of software engineering experience with at least 5 years of hands-on Appian development
- Deep experience designing, configuring, and delivering Appian applications in enterprise environments
- Ability to translate epics, features, and user stories into scalable workflows, interfaces, process models, and integrations
- Knowledge of workflow automation, testing support, release coordination, and production sustainment
- Experience mentoring developers, conducting code reviews, and enforcing Appian best practices
- Experience supporting cloud environments, with knowledge of common platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
- Working knowledge of AI concepts and practical applications
- The ability to obtain a security clearance
- U.S. citizenship
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Army or DoD enterprise systems, Appian-first design approaches, data architecture, and long-range modernization planning
- Experience modernizing legacy capabilities in Appian, supporting federal acquisition or contract writing workflows, and using an Appian-first approach across shared IL5/IL6 codebases
- CompTia Sec+ certification
