Job Summary
Senior Layout Integration Engineer at Assystem responsible for leading development of integrated plant layouts across Fusion and Modular Nuclear programmes, acting as a technical focal point for major plant areas or work packages and guiding multidisciplinary coordination, interfaces, and design maturity through engineering studies, design reviews, and technical decision-making. Accountable for delivery of layout work packages, ensuring technical quality and programme commitments, while mentoring engineers and designers. Responsibilities include leading layout development from concept to detailed design, equipment and piping layout, clash detection, interface management, and supporting modularisation, transportation, lifting, and construction assessments. Requires experience with CAD/BIM tools (E3D, PDMS, Plant 3D, Siemens NX, Revit, Inventor) and Navisworks, strong stakeholder engagement, and the ability to author and defend technical recommendations. SC Clearance or ability to obtain clearance is required.
Required Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent industrial experience
- Significant experience in plant layout, piping layout, plant integration or multidisciplinary engineering delivery
- Experience leading plant area development and multidisciplinary coordination activities
- Experience facilitating design reviews, model reviews and technical workshops
- Experience using E3D, PDMS, Plant 3D, Siemens NX, Revit, Inventor or similar CAD/BIM platforms
- Experience using Navisworks or equivalent clash detection software
- Strong understanding of equipment arrangement, piping layout, constructability and plant integration
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, requirements management and interface management
- Experience supporting gated design review processes and technical governance activities
- Strong report writing, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to author, defend and implement technical recommendations
- SC Clearance or capable of achieving it
