Senior Layout Integration Engineer

Job Summary
Lead development of integrated plant layouts across Fusion and Modular Nuclear programmes; act as technical focal point for major plant areas or work packages; lead multidisciplinary coordination activities, resolving interfaces and driving design maturity through engineering studies, design reviews and technical decision-making; accountable for delivery of assigned layout work packages, ensuring technical quality, integration and programme commitments; responsibilities include leading layout development from concept through detailed design, developing equipment, piping, cable tray, access and maintenance arrangements, coordinating interfaces between systems/buildings/structures, facilitating model and layout reviews, leading clash detection and interface management, supporting Human Factors, Fire, Architectural and Civil & Structural integration, and mentoring engineers and designers; author technical reports, optioneering studies, design philosophies and engineering recommendations; present and defend technical recommendations to stakeholders; support modularisation, transportation, lifting and construction assessments; promote layout standards and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Significant experience in plant layout, piping layout, plant integration or multidisciplinary engineering delivery
- Experience leading plant area development and multidisciplinary coordination activities
- Experience facilitating design reviews, model reviews and technical workshops
- Experience using E3D, PDMS, Plant 3D, Siemens NX, Revit, Inventor or similar CAD/BIM platforms
- Experience using Navisworks or equivalent clash detection software
- Strong understanding of equipment arrangement, piping layout, constructability and plant integration
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, requirements management and interface management
- Experience supporting gated design review processes and technical governance activities
- Strong report writing, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to author, defend and implement technical recommendations
- SC Clearance or capable of achieving it
- Desirable: Experience in nuclear, fusion, SMR or AMR sectors
- Desirable: Experience leading major work packages or plant areas
- Desirable: Experience supporting modularisation and construction studies
