Job Summary
Negotiate and secure long-term land agreements for renewable project development by initiating contact with landowners, articulating value propositions, and executing leases, easements, and curative instruments. Mentor junior Land Agents, develop training curricula, and conduct stakeholder meetings to maintain relationships throughout the acquisition and operations phases. Manage land acquisition budgets, submit weekly status reports, and collaborate with regional teams to implement campaigns while adhering to corporate policies. This role requires 50% office work and 50% field travel, reporting to the Manager, Land Acquisition.
Required Qualifications
- RPL, or CPL through American Association of Professional Landmen
- Local Notary license
- Bachelor's degree, JD, or MBA
- Business, Marketing, or Real Estate or a related field
- Ten (10) years of direct experience in land leasing/acquisition activities
- Proven sales, account acquisition and account management experience
- Task and detail-oriented problem solver with exceptional organizational skills
- Patience and willingness to teach, mentor, and train others in the organization on real estate principles
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- CRM software
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and public speaking skills
- Expert contract drafter and negotiator
- Expert-level knowledge of land, legal, and negotiation principles
- Ability to deploy effectively
- Self-starter, with the ability to work independently and as a team player
- Ability to travel 50% or more of work time
Desired Qualifications
- RPL, or CPL through American Association of Professional Landmen preferred
- Local Notary license preferred, or the ability to obtain one
- Past renewables experience
