Job Summary
Maintain lab sterility, operate equipment, and perform aseptic sampling for finished products, environmental surfaces, and raw materials using AOAC methods. Execute microbiological and chemical analyses, log samples, and document results for departmental managers. Compile trending data, identify deviations, and initiate corrective actions in conjunction with supervisors. Train and onboard entry-level technicians, write and maintain SOPs, and assist with QA duties as needed. Work independently with minimal oversight while managing inventory and participating in proficiency testing programs.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a quality function
- strong math and communication skills
- 2+ years of experience working in a food testing/food safety laboratory
- good understanding of GMPs, HACCP, and SQF guidelines
- ability to communicate with others
- desire and willingness to work closely within a group of individuals
- ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- ability to write, review, and maintain SOPs and lab documentation
- ability to compile and analyze trending data, identify deviations, and initiate corrective actions
