Job Summary
Senior Knowledge Management Specialist responsible for designing and governing enterprise KM systems, including metadata schemas, taxonomies, and ontologies; develop knowledge maps, capability directories, and expertise locators to surface institutional strengths; evaluate and configure KM platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, enterprise search, knowledge graphs, AI-assisted retrieval); promote knowledge-sharing through training and documentation; contribute to data governance and metadata quality; serve as Data Steward for library and knowledge-domain data; collaborate with IT and business units to enable cross-division visibility of research, expertise, and capabilities; 100% remote with approximately 10% travel within the United States.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or equivalent from an ALA accredited program
- Minimum 6 years of experience in knowledge management, taxonomy, metadata, and content management post-MLIS degree
