Senior Job Cost Accountant (Req #: 1417)

Senior Job Cost Accountant responsible for leading day-to-day accounting functions across Peckham Industries' construction subsidiaries, focusing on job costing, work-in-progress analysis, and operational reporting for paving operations. Acts as a bridge between Finance and Construction Operations to ensure financial results reflect field performance, with high visibility and opportunity for growth into broader financial leadership. Key duties include ensuring accurate job setup, cost projections, and backlog reporting; coordinating with Project Managers, Estimators, and Contract Administrative teams; managing subcontract and purchase commitments, POs, and AP transactions; developing and enhancing financial and operational reporting; performing variance analysis of actual results versus budget and prior year; conducting unit cost and production analysis; supporting project closeout, audits, budgeting, forecasting, and revenue recognition; and assisting with process improvements and internal controls. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, relevant construction/accounting experience, GAAP fluency, strong communication, and right to work in the U.S.; travel up to 15-20% to offices in New York and New England.
