Job Summary
Senior Java Developer on the Aladdin Engineering team at BlackRock. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and implementing secure, scalable, and reliable micro-services for client-facing applications built on Java technologies with REST and gRPC as needed. Collaborate across agile teams to deliver on roadmaps, ensuring highly efficient, available, concurrent, and fault-tolerant software. Contribute to the Private Markets platform, participate in permissions/document management and related services, and work within a cloud-first microservice architecture. The role emphasizes learning the business and systems, applying OO design and standard design patterns, and communicating effectively with product management and business users. The position operates in a hybrid work model with at least four days in the office per week and one day remote, within Belgrade, Serbia.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years hands-on experience in Java/Spring Framework/Spring Boot
- Experience designing and building scalable micro-services using API-First principles with REST or gRPC
- Experience with OO development and design patterns
- Experience with modern software tooling (git, maven, unit testing, integration testing)
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and effective communication
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or Engineering preferred
