Job Summary

Senior Java Developer in FICFX at VP level responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions for an e-trading platform. Lead software engineering efforts from requirements gathering to rollout, drive innovation in software design and architecture, and partner with business leaders to align technology initiatives with organizational goals. Core responsibilities include implementing business logic, building services, maintenance, bug fixes, QA automation or framework development, and defining strategies to improve development processes. The role expects strong Core Java development, experience with trading platforms or financial markets, and openness to learning additional technologies (e.g., Python/Scala), with preferred experience in eTrading and swaps, and insights into fixed income. The position emphasizes ownership, strategic direction for the software engineering function, and collaboration in executive planning. The base pay range is between $155,000 and $215,000 per year, with potential variable compensation components; formal education or equivalent experience is accepted.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant software development experience
  • Strong Core Java development experience (JDK 21+ would be beneficial)
  • Development experience in object-oriented programming
  • Exposure to AMP/Claude Code or similar AI tools would be beneficial
  • Fixed Income domain knowledge
  • Experience with Swaps is preferred
