Job Summary
Senior Java Developer role leading design and implementation of cloud-native Java microservices on a cross-functional Scrum team. Responsibilities include owning key services, driving architecture and performance, implementing API-first design and modern engineering practices (TDD, GitOps), leveraging AI-assisted tooling to accelerate development and improve code quality, performing thorough code reviews, defining automated testing strategies with QA/SRE, ensuring observability and secure configuration, and contributing across the full SDLC while mentoring engineers and participating in on-call production support. Requires 7+ years in software engineering, strong Java expertise (Spring Boot/Spring Cloud/WildFly), cloud-native experience, secure software practices, automated testing, CI/CD, Kubernetes, observability tools, and excellent communication. Bonus points for a Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field. Long-term USD compensation.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced level of English
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong experience with Java and modern Java frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, WildFly)
- Proficiency with Java 17+ features including concurrency and memory management
- Strong understanding of secure software development (OAuth2, OIDC, secure API design, secrets management)
- Experience with automated testing (JUnit 5, Mockito, Testcontainers)
- Cloud-native architectures (containers, Kubernetes, Azure preferred)
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows
- Observability and production diagnostics (Datadog, metrics/logging/tracing)
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot or similar)
- Ability to mentor and coach engineers and lead architectural discussions
- Excellent communication skills and collaboration with cross-functional teams
